The teamup you've wanted since childhood!
By Steve
When I saw the concept of this book, I just had to buy it. Two childhood favorites meeting together in one series! The story is an interesting setup: The turtles and Shredder and the foot clan have arrived in Batman's world somehow. There is the obligatory super hero misunderstanding fight, which is great, because of course we want to see Batman fight the turtles. But they get their issues sorted out and team up on Shredder. A good number of Batman villains make an appearance in this including Killer Croc, Penguin and more. We get most of the main characters from both franchise to make at least a brief appearance, but the meat of the story is Batman, the Turtles and Shredder. We even get a one on one Batman/Shredder fight! I mean what else do I have to say? This should already be in your cart.
I took off a star because the story wraps up too quickly and simply. I feel like they could have gotten more out of the twist with the Batman villains towards the end than they did. I also was torn on the art of Freddy Williams II. I liked the way he drew almost everything in the book....except Batman. His Batman just didn't do it for me. He looked a little too much like a bad 90's stereotype (as in too muscular, poor detail and linework) but I thought everyone else he drew looked great.
After the story there are a ton of pages of all the various alternate cover that graced this series, and those were fun to look at. My personal favorite was a Neal Adams drawing of Batman and the Turtles, followed closely by a Gabriel D'Otto work. But there were a ton of cool covers to look at and I'm really glad they were included at full size.

The Dynamic Quint cleaning up the streets of Gotham
By Thomas W Day
Alright, maybe the Dynamic Duo is more melodic but this crossover works.
I'll happily admit to being biased coming into this graphic novel as I love both Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - but, truthfully this was a ton of fun. Nothing groundbreaking. No new story telling tricks. Just a healthy dose of turtle fueled bat entertainment. And Batman eats pizza. Also, mutagen finds a way into Arkham and works over some iconic DC villains.
The art direction is great. The illustration and inking is phenomenal. The pacing of the story is quick with little to no down time.
If I had to complain about anything it would be that for a few pages Raphael falls into his brooding-you-can't-possibly-understand-my-hardships attitude but that wraps up in short order.
If you like Batman and TMNT and you don't mind your comics books to be a bit silly then you're in for a treat.

Batman +TMNT = YES.
By H.D.
Seriously, this book was pretty great. Now, it wasn't PERFECT (a villain or two were taken out a bit too easily toward the end, and there were a few spots with, well, "derpy" artwork of a cowl-less Bruce Wayne) but I give it five stars because it accomplished everything I look for in a crossover - a clear and concise story, characters that react properly in the environments, and - especially important in a crossover - the characters as a whole are written as they normally are in their own series.
To expand on that - I couldn't stand the Family Guy and Simpsons crossover episode on tv because right out of the gate Homer wasn't acting like the Homer of The Simpsons - he was acting out of character in another characters environment, and I was instantly taken out of the story. I mean there were so many things wrong what that crossover but it is the first that comes to mind. I believe many crossovers fail because characters from world A converge with world B and its characters, and everyone acts like they were written by the writers of world B. Hopefully that makes sense. This really felt to me like IDW/TMNT writers sat down with DC and wrote this thing collaboratively but in voices that stayed true to each characters environment. Why can't all crossovers pay off like this??
It was a bit of a bummer that the last 49-50 pages were all cover art and alt art, sketches etc. because I really wanted the story to last longer - but I ALWAYS prefer a little shorter, more concise story that wraps up and doesn't drag out (as opposed to the series where it seems so drug out for an extra issue or two). Also, that isn't to say that the story itself is short - it collects all 6 issues of the series and is a good sized story, easily read in one sitting with a cold beer or two and some pizza.
I am seriously glad I took a chance and pre-ordered this (like on a small island and I sold my comic and gaming store three years ago, so no real direct way to browse the comic stands anymore). And with Amazon's preorder price guarantee I ended up paying about $10 for this snazzy hardcover, as opposed to the $19.99 I preordered it for (cover price $24.99)! A sweet deal indeed.
All in all, if you grew up a hardcore TMNT and Batman fan like I did, this story will not disappoint, and you will have fun with all of the little twists and turns and hilarious moments throughout. And the artwork isn't bad either (keep an eye out for the killer double page spread at Arkham towards the end! So fun)!
