Great artwork, tough pacing in the middle
By Amazon Customer
Beautiful book (especially when you take off the court of owls cover) that does have pacing issues in the middle. Spending nearly two full comics on no name characters who we'lol never see again is a waste.
That being said, it's a fun book that shows the confidence of the bat family with Bruce Wayne never even showing up.
Worth a read and at a pretty good price I say go for it.

DC's further decline of Quantity over Quality
By myconius
i'll admit while the concept of the Robin War is actually pretty cool, the execution was done very poorly.
the focus doesn't evolve around the fan favorite Legacy characters, instead our story begins with a bunch of throw-away wannabe Robins.
having read the entire arc in the single issues, trying to re-read the story over was just unbearable!

there are so many ridiculous elements to this story, like Duke Thomas coming off as some super invincible 'Mary-Sue' character. he's able to pull off incredible feats, and he never had any sort of professional training.

i also found it very silly that characters all toss around the catch-phrase "I AM ROBIN".
having a character like Dick Grayson who has long since evolved from being Robin to being Nightwing and currently is Agent 37 of Spyral, say "I AM ROBIN" is very plastic storytelling.

one of the Biggest disappointments of this event was it ends saying "To Be Continued in the pages of Grayson".
i've been reading Grayson since issue #1, and you'd never even know the Robin War or any of it's events ever even happened.

it feels like the events of this story were completely pointless and inconsequential.

the art is distractingly inconsistent, varying in quality.

and one of the worse things about the book, is though it's printed on glossy paper there's a warped wave that goes through the pages.

if you're new to comics and looking for a quality Robin story, you'd be much better off getting something like Batgirl/Robin Year One , Batman & Robin, Vol. 1: Batman Reborn or even Batman and Robin Vol. 1: Born to Kill (The New 52)

i found nothing enjoyable in The Robin War. i can't recommend this story to anyone.
