Knightfall Descends Delivers
By Com.Reader
Volume 2 proves to be a fantastic read. The artwork is good and the story line even better! Although volume 1 may have started off slow, the progression of the plot will continually grab the reader's attention. There is constant introduction of new villains; not there to replace old/historical villains, but instead to provide new insight and new direction for this reboot. Barbara's character is being developed continuously and is most pronounced during the action sequences. The author makes Batgirl intriguing and dynamic, yet still historically classy like the Barbara Gordon many grew up with. There is an interesting subplot development that is just as exciting as the main storyline. This, I sense, will only make reading the new Batgirl more worthwhile as the suspense of it all will stimulate the curiosity of readers. With it's current direction, I am excited and hoping for the incorporation of other well-known heroes (but one can only wish). This series is a must-read; I recommend this to those wondering if this reboot is worth reading and to those who do not follow the original Batgirl story line.

"Batgirl Volume 2: Knightfall Descends" Graphic Novel Review
By ERSInk . com
DC Comics delivers more excitement with "Batgirl Volume 2: Knightfall Descends." The graphic novel collects issues #0 and 7 through 13 of the monthly title. It's written by series regular Gail Simone and illustrated by Ardian Syaf, Ed Benes, Alitha Martinez, and Vincente Cifuentes.
"Batgirl Volume 2: Knightfall Descends" consists of four different storylines with interweaving subplots. "A Fire in the Heavens" tells the tale of the first time Barbara Gordon donned a costume and embraced her destiny as an agent of the Bat.
"A View from Below" and No Darker Shadow" pits Batgirl against a murderous masked metahuman calling himself Grotesque. He's bent on taking the finer things in life from the rich and privileged of Gotham City for himself.
"In the Line of Fire" puts Batgirl in the middle of the Night of the Owls as she comes face-to-face with a female Talon.
"All Snug in Their Beds," "Heart of Cold Steel," "Every Time I Fall," and "A Blade of Memory" has Batgirl facing down against a foe named Knightfall and her minions. The vengeful angel of death believes it's her mission to cleanse Gotham City's streets of criminals through her own means of capital punishment.
Simone crafts great stories that keep the reader glued to the book all the way to the climactic end. The villains in her tales are well-thought out and each has their own tantalizing characteristics, schemes, and abilities. Although it feels rather "convenient" that the Court of Owls just happen to have a female Talon to do battle with a female super hero, her back-story and the climactic battle that ensues more than make up for this "coincidence."
My favorite of all the storylines is the one featuring Knightfall. It's a fun little mystery tale with a villain reminiscent of Azrael. Imagine if that character was empowered with the wrath and fury of a woman scorned.
Ardian Syaf, Ed Benes, Alitha Martinez, and Vincente Cifuentes share the art duties throughout "Batgirl Volume 2: Knightfall Descends." Each one has their own style, but they don't distract from the story Simone is telling. The artists all capably capture the tone and actions in every panel of the book.
9 pages of extra material are featured in this volume. The "Death in the Family" tie-in cover for Batgirl #13 is included. There are also cover sketches, rough drafts, character designs, and a black and white layout page. The bonus artwork is provided by Greg Capullo, FCO Plascencia, Ed Benes, and Ardian Syaf.
"Batgirl Volume 2: Knightfall Descends" is an essential addition to your collection of Bat-Family graphic novels. Simone pens engaging tales with memorable characters that you'll want to see again in the future. The artwork for the book adds a whole other visual level and is a feast for the eyes.

Go Batgirl Go!
By Skyler Sneathen
So far the Batgirl series has been average at best. The title is somewhat misleading as this character named Knightfall does not even appear until the second half of the novel. On top of that, there is no mystery to Knightfall's identity. It is figured out in no time since there are no other suspects, plus the characters even guess it too right away. Knightfall turns out to be a cool design and concept. I just hope they plan to do more with the character. In addition, was the one issue that dealt with the Court of Owls. I understand she has no ties with them unlike Batman & Nightwing, but why tease us? Just devote that issue to some other villain or problem. On top of that the Court of Owls issue barely fits in. You could read the entire novel, omitting this one issue and wouldn't really miss anything. Why waste our time? The issue itself was great but led nowhere. However the female Talon design is very cool.
It takes us back to the origin of Batgirl which I'm sure we all forgot but updates it a bit so it was about time I say. I've always wondered why become Batgirl? Well one she wants to help people - admirable. Second - she likes the rush. But she mainly does it for the rush and I love that. But this is what I love about the character. Let's take the great Batman design and put a youthful, attractive girl in that costume who is smart and kicks ass! She's so energetic, cute and normal. She comes off as your average girl next door type. Again, she does this hero stuff for fun not because of some dark, poetic, over-complicated existential need to brood (no offense Batman). Nonetheless, the stories need more. They got our protagonist down but she needs more threats. Kudos, by the end of the novel in that she pratically has her own rogue's gallery built up. But I am still awaiting that one quintessential rogue... Batman has his Joker, Superman has Lex Luthor but what of Barbara?
Last but not least, Batwoman a fight between these two, how awesome is that?
