A fantastic ending to this trilogy!!

Revolutionary is the exciting and sometimes heart-wrenching conclusion to the Anomaly trilogy! This book picked up pretty much where the last one left off. Thalli is back in The State, having been taken (along with Alex and Kristie) by Dr. Loudin. Dr. Loudin wants to use Kristie to fix the oxygen problem in The State, and he wants to use Thalli and Alex to help him take over all of the pockets of survivors aboveground. Meanwhile, Thalli is still unsure about her feelings for Alex (who proposed to her in book #2) and Berk - and things get even more complicated when Berk is brought back to the State as well. But as Dr. Loudin's plans get more and more outrageous, Thalli doesn't have time to worry about her love life - not when the fate of the whole world hangs in the balance!
What I loved:
The Designer.
In this book, Thalli really started to question her faith in the Designer. Intellectually, she knew that he was there, but she didn't feel his presence - and he certainly didn't seem to be helping her as far as she could tell. She started to have some serious doubts. I loved this because it is so true to life. Who hasn't questioned their faith at times or felt like God was far away? Of course, the Designer didn't really abandon Thalli, but she has to see that and come to understand that for herself.
Identity crisis.
There were a few revelations regarding certain people's identities that were very interesting and added a lot to the story. I don't want to give any details away, but suffice it to say that these revelations had a big impact!
High stakes.
It felt like there were tons of twists and turns in this book. Every time Thalli and the gang would come up with a strategy to thwart Dr. Loudin, something would happen that would throw all of their plans in turmoil. I never knew how they were going to get out of their circumstances - right up until almost the very end! Plus, the danger was real - not everyone made it out of the State alive!! (Expect some tears.)
The negatives:
Boy troubles.
When it came to the love triangle, I got a bit frustrated with Thalli at times. It actually felt like Thalli made her choice pretty early on in the book (and I was very happy with her choice), but then she still kept sort of wavering. Plus, even after she had basically made a decision, she never actually TOLD either guy what she felt or what she'd decided. In the end, the decision was kind of made for her anyway (I won't give away how), and I felt like it was a bit of disservice to both Alex and Berk that she refused to actually choose and commit to her decision. Still, this triangle, in general, was handled relatively well and certainly didn't spoil the book. After all, there was a lot going on that was more important than Thalli's love life - and she didn't lose sight of that!
Revolutionary was a fantastic ending to the Anomaly trilogy. I LOVE that this series gives Christian readers a unique alternative to the typical Christian romance novel. Plus, even though the religious message of this series is strong, it's not so heavy-handed that an open-minded non-Christian reader couldn't enjoy it too! If you're a fan of dystopians, give it a try! I give this book 4.5/5 stars.

Warning! This is the last book in the trilogy so there will inevitably have spoilers!
This is the finale, it’s over. Thalli has returned to the State. For one last battle with Loudin. In the beginning you know Thalli has gotten stronger. And I fill she just builds on that in this book. She’s a strong character with characters who are actually strong beside her. There are a lot of those type of flaws with characters in young adult fiction. There has to some sort of really weak person. This series just seemed to destroy that cliché.
There is a cliché that could have gone without. The love triangle, Alex or Berk who will she choose. It wasn’t talked about the whole book, but still it got under my skin. Just pick already, is what I thought when it went to that sort of place. It wasn’t my favorite parts to read

My feelings went right back to where they were from the first book in the series. They are back in the State. The first book was set all in the State. Most of the time nothing happens, nothing big. Some people died, I’ll spare you who. No big moves were made after something like that happens. Sure there are little bits of what happens outside the state. Like in Athens and in New Hope, but were just little parts in the book. It was kind of boring.
As an ending you want to be built up, so the ending can be just mind blowing. I feel I didn’t get this from the last book. I do love Thalli and will miss her and the other characters like Rhen and Dallas, but I am glad that this series is over.

Christian Fiction's Hunger Games

Revolutionary is the third book in a young adult, dystopian series set at some point in the future in the United States. Thalli, the main character, has spent most of her life in an underground lab where the Ten kept what they thought were the only survivors of a nuclear holocaust. However, in book two, Thalli discovers they are not alone when Berk, Rhen, and herself escape from the State and find the city of New Hope. After helping to bring peace between Athens and New Hope Thallia is taken back to the underground State along with Alex, prince of Athens--the boy she was sort-of engaged to.
Revolutionary combines a tense love triangle with the greater adversity of facing off with another masochistic ruler bent on controlling the world. Will Dr. Loudin gain control of the world and create a "superhuman" race while annihilating the lesser humans? Will Thalli choose to rule with Alex or stay true to Berk? Will they live long enough for any of these questions to matter?
The Anomaly Trilogy, as I said in my review of the second book, is Christian fiction's Hunger Games. The story is compelling. The characters draw the reader in. There is not a dull moment. And we get to see how faith in the midst of great uncertainties fuels our main characters to fight seemingly losing battles. To be willing to die to save others.
My only contention, which I had with the second book, is that often I find it hard to "see" the characters' world. This may be because I came to the series in book 2 and now will be going back to read book one. Still, I like a bit more description so I can get a lay of the land, so to say.
That being said, I do love this series and have already recommended it to several of my friends. If you like dystopian novels, especially ones with action like Hunger Games but not nearly as violent, I'm confident you will enjoy Krista McGee's story.
I ranked Revolutionary as five stars because this is a series I plan on reading more than once. I reserve five star rankings for books that I am compelled to re-read over and over again.
